Learn More

Located 1.5 miles from Funchal, it is a place that can be accessed from land or boat. We do this dive from a boat so that we can start at the deepest part and go up through the various canyons. The maximum depth is 26 meters and the top is at 2 meters. The average depth of the dive is 14 meters.

In the various canyons we find several species of moray eels, namely the black moray eel (Muraena augusti) and the serpent moray eel (Enchelycore anatina). Usually these have cleaner shrimp, which will be ideal for a photograph.

This site needs to be visited more than once in order to know the entire dive site, due to its extension.

Learn More
The ship Bowbelle sank in 1996, 32 meters deep. Her destiny seemed set, as her story is full of tragic accidents. This 90 meter long dredger sank straight down with only a hole in the bow. In the area of the blunt we observed a very large shoal of snorers (Pomadasys incisus). The bow is where we find the greatest amount of animal life.

Throughout the ship we can observe various types of algae and coral, such as Coral (Phyllangia mouchezi).

It is not advisable to penetrate the ship as it was an accident and its structure is unstable. Visibility in this location is around 30 meters, which is excellent for observing the entire ship.

Due to the size of the ship, it is recommended to make at least two dives, that is, a bow dive and a stern dive.
